G.I. Gurdjieff’s Practical Wisdom for Spiritual Seekers

G.I. Gurdjieff was a modern mystic who traveled the world and synthesized his lessons into practical pearls of wisdom called the "Fourth Way." He did not offer a religious ideology or philosophy but rather a set of teachings that were prescient, timely, and evergreen. Gurdjieff believed that humanity's current phase of evolution was uncertain and that collaboration between the wisdom of the East and the energy of the West was necessary to prevent the world's self-destruction. His work gained momentum in the 20s-40s, and his beliefs seem to hold even more significance in 2021 and beyond.

Gurdjieff wrote a list of advice for his daughter, Duska Howard, which offers priceless perspective for those seeking self-knowledge and a deeper relationship with the world. His reflections offer a holistic point of view that emphasizes focus, perseverance, self-care, passion, emotion, generosity, a healthy dose of cynicism, and sympathy (and/or compassion) for the devil.
