Psychedelic Culture 2026: Healing With Integrity

Three days. Hundreds of voices. One vital conversation.

Something significant is happening in San Francisco this April. The Chacruna Institute, which is one of the world's foremost voices on plant medicines and psychedelic science, will be returning with its annual flagship conference, Psychedelic Culture 2026. And for this edition, Evolve & Ascend is honored to support them as a media partner — just as we did in 2024 (and 2025!).

This conference isn’t about hype cycles or venture capital horizons, but, rather, it's a three-day in-person gathering rooted in the kind of conversations that rarely make mainstream headlines. Here a dynamic group of visionary thinkers will be discussing the “hard” questions, like reciprocity, global impact, and who gets to define the future of healing.

"A decolonized, community-based approach to healing requires us to listen — truly listen — to the voices that have held this medicine knowledge for centuries." —The spirit of Psychedelic Culture 2026

Top researchers, Indigenous leaders, healers, activists, and community members from across the globe are convening under one roof. And, while the agenda is expansive, the intention is singular: to shape a future for psychedelic medicine that is built on inclusion, ethics, and deep respect for the traditions that made this moment possible.

What's on the agenda?

The conversations at PCU26 span neuroscience and shamanism, law and lived experience, academia and activism. Below are the five core thematic threads woven through the entire program:

Each of these threads reflects a tension that the mainstream psychedelic renaissance has often glossed over. The push and pull between clinical frameworks and ceremonial wisdom, between legal access and equitable access, between scientific validation and Indigenous sovereignty. PCU26 refuses to flatten those tensions. It sits with them, and invites the field to grow through them.

Why this gathering matters right now

As psychedelics inch closer to mainstream medical acceptance, the questions of who benefits and whose knowledge is credited become more urgent by the day. The Chacruna Institute has consistently refused to let those questions disappear into the excitement of clinical trials and FDA pathways. Their commitment to justice, reciprocity, and the communities that have stewarded plant medicines across generations is exactly what makes this event unlike any other in the space.
