All About the 2014 Winter Solstice

Tonight starting at 6:03pm EST (calculate the turning point in your time zone here) the 2014 Winter Solstice officially begins.

The Solstice marks the first official day of winter, and occurs when the North Pole is tilted 23.5 degrees away from the sun. This tilt allows for the longest night of the year, with the days getting progressively longer from this point until the Summer Solstice in 2015.

The movie, Zeitgeist (see clip below/full movie at bottom of article), explores the connection between the solstices/precession of the equinox in relation to religion/holiday ritual. This connection finds its roots in Pagan sun worship, as the Winter Solstice is celebrated as the beginning of the return of the sun, and darkness turning into light. Sound familiar? It is interesting to note, this date corresponds closely to the time of Christmas, Jesus’ birthday, and this “son of the Sun” turned darkness into light with his birth.

In any event, this particular time opens up a vortex of powerful manifestation energy, and the 2014 Solstice is very special. According to MysticMamma.com:

Super powered NEW MOON in Capricorn on the *SOLSTICE* heralds in a new time, a new season, and an opportunity to stand on behalf of our soul. So let’s tune in to our heart space and align with the heart of the Earth and the heart of the cosmos.

These turning points are opportunities for us to come together and unite our intentions in visualizing and birthing more LIGHT for our planet. It’s not about being afraid, of our collective shadows nor our personal ones, but about owning them and birthing more harmony and peace within ourselves and as a result without.

Now is a time for laser sharp focus, and crystal clear intention. You reap what you sow, you get out what you put in, and it is absolutely imperative to stay heart centered in your manifesting desires. Like attracts like, so be sure to tune your frequency to a high vibration.

As the Solstice is essentially a celebration based around the sun, let the sun serve as an example of the energy to put out during this time period. The sun gives off warmth and light, allows for growth and life, yet never asks for anything in return. The sun just shines, and its radiance is felt through our every cell. Be like the sun…transmute any darkness into light, shine bright, be warm, be full of life, vibrate high with a pure intention, and allow your intention to manifest in it’s divine timing. Just be, because the being is doing. Just do, and don’t ask for anything in return.

Celebrate the beauty of being, and do something special today to plant the “seed” for 2015 to be a prosperous year. It is a good day to create a manifestation board, write a list of goals, create a sigil, or meditate – perhaps even do a little bit of everything. However you choose to celebrate, just remember to stay light, and enjoy this beautiful day.
