On February 26th, there will be a POWERFUL Piscean New Moon, and solar eclipse.
Have you been feeling major shifts in your emotions, and consciousness, while also feeling conflicted with your own connection to spirit? Does time feel as though it’s moving simultaneously fast and slow, while trauma and old hurts seem to be presenting themselves more than ever?
Beyond the social and cultural vibratory disruptions due to the current climate of consciousness and world events, in the days leading up to this lunar eclipse, changes in our Earth’s electromagnetic field (see: Lunar Phases and Their Effects on Earth) affect our energy on a cellular level, shifting our frequency until we are in harmony with a new vibration.
We may feel as though we are in a tense reactionary state, and this discord may lend itself to overreacting and extreme swings of emotions. Eclipse season comes to an end on August 21st, and until this time comes to a close – we may remain in this consistent state of ebb and flow of transformational energy.
As we ride the tides of consciousness and cosmic events, looking at the spiritual significance of the New Moon and eclipse as a metaphysical (and metaphorical) teacher – this is a powerful time for introspection and illumination of the wounds we must release, so that the trauma of the past can be resolved and new beginnings can emerge from a lighter heart.
The New Moon is in the sign of Pisces, and is enveloped in the element of water. Patheos.com, elaborates on how this sign’s significance plays a part in the energy of the moon – by stating:
Fish appear to be individuals, but have you ever seen a school of them swimming together? They act as one. Each is part of a greater whole. And you Pisces Fish are more aware of your interdependency than any other sign. It’s as if you live in an ocean and the spirit that flows through you is like the one ocean that flows through all fishes. The symbol of the Fish is also the symbol of Christianity, the predominant religion during the past two thousand years — also known to astrologers as the “Age of Pisces.”
You Fish are spiritual in nature and emotional in expression. Your intuition and imagination are at once your strengths and weakness. You are attracted to the mystical side of things, and herein lay potential danger, for when pulled beneath the currents of everyday life, the realms of imagination and the subconscious offer little structure. Without the foundation of reality, it becomes easy to flounder and to lose direction. Your own salvation, however, can come from helping others less fortunate that yourself, especially those who have fallen into the misty realms of drugs, alcohol or spiritual confusion.
Your motto might be “Reality is just a shared illusion,” and, in a higher sense this may be true. Nevertheless, you still need to survive in this “shared illusion” of reality, and sometimes this becomes a struggle for you compassionate Fish, who can feel the pain of the world as if it were your own. There’s no easy escape for you. Your best path is to follow a creative or spiritual pursuit while doing your work in the real world.
Astrologically, the water element symbolizes emotion. Water runs deep; it seeks its own level and will flow until it has found it. The cycle of water is endless with the snows falling in the mountains and melting. The mountain streams join to make the great rivers that run to the sea. The tides and currents churn the oceans. Similarly, our feelings are flowing as they connect the present with past experiences. Sometimes the waters are so deep that we cannot put words to our feelings.
The waters of Pisces are about the waters of consciousness itself. We live in a sea of thoughts and feelings and beliefs. These waters connect each of us to one another in ways that go beyond our rational understanding of life.
Pisces is the sign of surrender and release, which means we should try to resist the desire to control and manipulate events and instead breathe deeply with faith that the universe will safely guide our souls on their way.
The overall message during this solar eclipse and New Moon is to take accountability for your presence in this moment now, and to be present so you may open up to the magic of new beginnings.
Holding on to hurt from the past only perpetuates trauma, and continued sadness which doesn’t allow wounds to heal. Living in hurt, only hurts your ability to create new patterns of possibility, so allow time to work for you, not against you. Open your heart to love by letting go, and surrendering to the infinite nature of all that is.
As with any cosmic event of this kind, we recommend setting intentions and claiming what you’d like to manifest in the months ahead within 24 hours of the New Moon so that they can be echoed out through the ripples of time.
