Full Moon on March 23rd, 2016: Worm Moon + Libra Lunar Eclipse
On Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016 (at 8:01 A.M. – EST), we will be experiencing a Full Moon. The date falling on the 23rd is interesting to note – because in numerology, it is an enigmatic number, relating to creation/creativity – but also represents the energies of adaptability, change, and power of will – which is synchronistic to the energies of this moon (see: Astrological Story of Creation).
This particular Full Moon brings us a Lunar Eclipse in Libra – which facilitates an intense alignment with the Sun, Moon and Earth, so it is advised that you hold off on making any major decisions or commitments at this time. Astrologically speaking, Libra represents balance, diplomacy, and empathy. This moon is regarded as the “Worm Moon” by Native Americans, because at the time of this spring moon the ground begins to soften and earthworm casts reappear. The moon is also referred to as the “Sap Moon” – as it marks the time when maple sap starts to flow, and the annual tapping of maple trees begins.
So with these energies being afoot, it’s an important time to ask yourself where you may need to place more energy in your life, so that you are more balanced and feeling aligned with your best self. It is also important to remember to not only be empathetic to others, but to yourself as well – if you’re finding that you’ve been giving yourself a hard time, because things aren’t working out as you’d hoped…remember all happens in divine timing, so be gentle, be kind, search for the lesson in the experience, and treat yourself to your self-care “ritual”.
Spending this time journaling, and getting clear on what you need in order to get what you want is advised. Taking the energies of Libra, and the notion of this being the “Worm Moon” can serve as great inspiration…what do you need in order to find balance, and how can you take this “fertile” energy and cultivate new grounds for growth, so you can manifest what you want? What do you need to tap into now, in order to allow abundance to flow?
The Full Moon represents the completion of a cycle, and if you’ve achieved what you’ve been hoping for during this phase – practicing gratitude and meditating on the feelings that correspond with completing your goal is a way to harness even more abundance, and let it continue to permeate through the next cycle.
