How the Invention of Public Relations Became the Ultimate Form of Mind Control

The BBC Documentary, “The Century of the Self” (see video below) is one of the most profound documentaries you may of never heard of. The 4 part series outlines the journey of American consumer culture, and how we’ve been conditioned over the last 100 yrs.

This documentary reveals the sorcery we’ve be blinded to, and explores the curious story of Edward Bernays, the nephew of Freud, who spent his childhood on holiday with Freud discussing the human condition at great lengths. He came to learn how we can manipulate people through the lower part of ourselves, while playing off the desire of ego. He was the man who created Public Relations, and shaped the future of marketing, advertising, and promotion as we know it.

We are a species ruled by cycles and patterns. Once the behavior is understood, we can be manipulated under the will and intention of the campaign. We are told we are individuals, but treated as cattle. We are the herd on the quest of convenience. We consume like locusts, under the guise of ” YOLO”, and ego. This is linear thinking at it’s worst. The idea that we are born, and die, so take what you can while your here, and indulge every warped desire, because you are never going to be able to have this life again. Resources for this life, and none for the next.  We forget we are a part of nature, and just as nature dies each winter, only to be born again in the spring… it’s a cycle we should apply to ourselves. Wouldn’t we treat our experience differently if we knew we had to come back and do it all over again? Except this time with less resources, as we have to keep returning to a society and infrastructure in perpetual decay.

We can wake up to this or remain asleep. The choice is yours, and yours alone.

Aristotle argued that Rhetoric should be widely taught and understood; yet who, besides those in the business of manipulation, can afford to be schooled in Rhetoric. Especially considering the modern advances in human manipulation…
While I am not schooled in Rhetoric, I have spent many years researching psychological manipulation and think a dose of Psychological Freedom can fill in where a degree in Public Relations is lacking.

Take LSD regularly (once a month?) and eventually commercial advertising will no longer have any affect on you.

I can’t decide if it’s more nauseating that you’re fine with leading off claiming that America banned this documentary, a claim which is categorically false. Or the insinuation that the mainstream media is trying to hide this from people when this documentary was produced by the BBC.

Do you people even try and have ethics? I’m curious.

For people who feel like they’re more enlightened because they get their news from pages like this, really pay attention to how often they blatantly lie in order to sex things up.

And then stop and actually consider if they’re telling you the truth about anything or if they just exist to tell you want you want to hear.

I know it’s hard. I know that all your skepticism turned towards anything that comes from official sources utterly evaporates the second you see an article comes from the DMT The Spirit Molecule facebook page or whatever, but Christ the level of bullshit these places traffic in is disgusting.

Demand better from people you agree with. What’s the worst that could happen? Charlatans and bamboozlers have to stop lying? A few less organic hemp g-strings get sold?
