‘Time is Art’ NYC Theater Premiere Sells Out & Premieres Around the World on 11/11

The feature documentary, ‘Time is Art’, premiered to a sold out audience in New York City and around the world on 11/11/2015. Theater premieres took place in select cities such as Austin, NYC & San Francisco via the Austin, TX based Tugg platform which allows indie filmmakers to crowdsource their film into theaters. The film also premiered in Guatemala, Holland, England and Ashland, Oregon.

The film tells a personal story of creative and spiritual awakening of writer, Jennifer Palmer.

A corporate IT specialist-turned-writer, she is compelled to make sense of the mysterious and powerful energy she felt at her aunt’s deathbed. A series of strange coincidences leads her on an exploration of synchronicity – the concept that all beings are interconnected, and that time is not so much a chronology as it is an infinite cycle. Considering herself something of a skeptic, Jennifer treads the fine line between nervous breakdown and ecstatic revelation as she seeks out guides in her search for answers. Together, they explore a reality where time is transformed from a unit that can be measured and commodified -“Time is money”- to an experience of oneness with the natural rhythms of nature and the universe. It is here that the writer discovers that time is, in fact, art.

The film features conversations with luminaries Toko-Pa Turner, Richard Tarnas, Graham Hancock, Amy Lansky, Daniel Pinchbeck and Rupert Sheldrake as well as inspiring artists and activists. Like the films Waking Life and Samsara, the viewer is taken on a journey through a beautiful tapestry of inquiry and meditation; awakening us to how interdependently connected to each other we really are.

In a recent article, Jacob Devaney via Uplift wrote:

“This film is a gem in the emerging conscious, independent media movement. Coming from the grassroots, they have a very exciting way for people to get involved by hosting local screenings in their community via the ingenious Tugg platform.” He also wrote, “Our greatest hope for emerging from these turbulent times seems to be a combination of imagination, collaboration, and technology fused with spiritual purpose. [The film] is a great example of this.”
The film is produced by Brooklyn, NY based Things are Changing Productions and directed by co-creative team, Katy Walker, her husband, Joel Mejia and Maia Monasterios.
