How to Bring More Magic(k) Into Your Life: Keep Calm, and Carry On

Opening up to new levels of consciousness, and an expanded reality opens new doors of perception that were previously closed. As we stated in the first installation of this series, the results you will receive will be incredible – but it is integral to keep quiet, and integrate as opposed toannounce.

The three biggest “no-no’s” to manifesting, and understanding the ways of the universe/spiritual truths are ignorance, tyranny and fanaticism. These adversaries are hidden in the Masonic allegory of Hiram Abiff, which tells the tale of the mythical builder of Jerusalem’s Temple of Solomon. During construction Hiram was killed by three workers (aka: spiritual adversaries) who believed his “secret” would impart the magical power of creation. The three adversaries – perverted through uncurbed emotions and destructive actions – attempt to slay the spirit of life in man (Hiram), and bring down the “temple of creation” in ruins about their own heads. However, no matter how hard the adversaries tried – Hiram was true to his convictions, and stayed silent…dying a mortal death with his secret locked away in his heart, but holding true to his immortal promise abiding the laws of creation.

While Masonry is shrouded in mystery and controversy, the core aspects of the craft are not limited to Masons alone. For example, the Bible is regarded as their sacred text, not because it is meant to be taken literally/religiously, but because the allegories and lessons are the stories of the human condition, and if we apply any of these stories to our lives, we can find value in grounding and protecting the wisdom we receive.

“If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.” – William Blake

Even salt looks like sugar, and if we allow the mind to deceive us, ignorance takes hold, and you place a box of belief around a reality which no limit exists. Do not become ignorant to what you see, remember there is always more than meets the eye, and it is important to look for the words beyond the word.

“Though the modern world may know a million secrets, the ancient world knew one – and that was greater than the million; for the million secrets breed death, disaster, sorrow, selfishness, lust, and avarice, but the one secret confers life, light, and truth.”
― Manly P. Hall

Tyranny is an ego trap which lends the initiate to judgement, and lower vibrations. As you come to learn what you will learn, and receive what you receive, you may find yourself gaining power, influence, and affluence. Do not let the material manifestations you may receive dictate your worth, and remember your value is weighed by the weight of your heart. If you lose sight of this as you advance, and venture towards tyrannical thinking, you may find yourself losing more than just yourself.

“Silence is of great profit. An abundance of speech profiteth nothing.” – The Emerald Tablets

It is easy to “wake up” and become fanatical, because once you have new vision – it is hard to see with the same sight. Fanaticism can creep through in unsuspecting ways, and (unfortunately) in this day and age, social media lends itself to wanting to prove something with our online voice. There is nothing to prove that needs to be proven, and allow your life, actions and intentions to speak on their own. You need not change who you are to suit a new persona, in reality you’ve changed nothing – you’re only releasing what you are not, and to be who you are, you find who you always were.

In taking Masonic ideals as the foundation upon which you make your magick, building a solid infrastructure of stone will allow your creation to outlast the test of time. But, if you build your foundation with “wood” you may splinter, wither, and break.

Keep your composure, keep your heart, and (most importantly) keep an open mind.

Until next week,

With love…

Jennifer
